Rod Mills Passed Away Peacefully on 27th December 2010
SailingShipsInBottles.com will remain open in Rod’s memory and those who would like to learn Rod’s craft, how to make sailing ships in bottles are welcome to register over there on the right and download his book.
I am no longer able to provide links to his DVD but I know Rod would be only too happy if those of you who would like to learn more, downloaded his book and followed his instructions to build a ship in a bottle. Then maybe you can teach someone else to make a sailing ship in a bottle and Rod’s craft will continue on, he would like that very much.
I built this website for Rod and will continue to keep it online as long as I possibly can.
In Memory of a Gentleman in the true sense of the word, Rod Mills was a gentle man who love to share his talent. The talent of making sailing ships in bottles.
Rod lived well, laughed often and will remain forever in our hearts.

Welcome To The Exciting World Of Making Sailing Ships In Bottles.
We wanted to get this 59 page book out FREE! to schools, libraries, other educational institutions and people interested in this hobby…..why?
There are not many people out there with the experience I have had in the area of making ships in bottles who really want to pass on this interest to people (especially young people), and see this practise carried on to future generations.
I believe that I now have sufficient information to allow anyone (from 7 to 70 years old) to learn this craft and start doing this for themselves – at home or in normal school hours, as a part of a normal school curriculum or a great hobby.
Some of you might want to do what I do and begin a successful part time business teaching this in schools around your country. Use this ebook to open the doors for you….it’s free, so use it. I’m available to help you (in any part of the world) to do this.
Over the years of teaching this subject in schools, homes, markets and maritime institutions, thousands of people in Australia have been shown these simple procedures of how to make sailing ships in bottles. School students as young as 7 have bought their model to show me the next day.
I supply schools with a model making kit, and within 24 hours most students have made themselves a sailing ship in a bottle. Guess who’s pleased the most?……..the student.
And, the teacher – who gets a pat on the back from the school authorities…plus the parents.
Sometimes the local newspaper gets involved and I am photographed with the students in the classroom workshop. Great publicity for the school….the class, and for me when I visit other towns. Everybody’s happy.
Mind you I didn’t have this book available in those days and I have to presume that it was the ‘hands-on’ experience in front of them, that made the knowledge easier to learn. We wrote the book and handed it out at $30 each, allowing schools to photocopy them freely.
Today it’s yours – FREE!
Then people asked me if there was a DVD available.
They wanted a DVD that showed beginners how to do this in the classroom. Step by step. A simple, visual demonstration of the procedures I had created. I got swamped by schools asking for it – proving to be an excellent teaching tool of an unknown craft.
Details regarding the DVD will be available very soon, why not use that handy bookmarking options below and come back soon or you can sign up to the mailing list and get the free ebook and we will let you know as soon as the details are available.
